Types of Sweepstakes

There are several different types of sweepstakes to enter. Here, I'll outline the most common:

One entry - one entry per person
Daily entry or dailies - one entry per person per day
24 hour entry - one entry per person per 24 hours
Instant Wins - one entry per person per day with the chance to win instantly
Weekly/Monthly entry - one entry per person per week/month
Unlimited Entry - infinite amount of entries
Odd entry - typically requires something more involved for entry, ex. essay, graphic design/artwork, music jingle, video, etc.
Social Media entry - contests facilitated through social media sites such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

My personal favorite type of sweepstakes are One Entry. The reason for this is that my odds for winning are as good as anyone else's. I also like Instant Wins, and the majority of the wins in my repertoire are the result of these type of sweepstakes. I'm not a big fan of Dailies, but I enter them anyway. They take a lot of time, so I am very selective about entering them. For me, I have to really, really want the prize to invest the time. I usually only enter a daily if the Arrival value is at least $1,500, otherwise, it's generally not worth my time. I loathe unlimited entries and hardly ever enter them. I'd rather know the my odds have the potential to be as good as any other person's.

Social Media contests are so-so for me. Some take a good amount of time, and I don't typically enter anything that I have to do anything special for. I don't have a Pinterest account and haven't gotten into Twitter sweepstakes yet. I'm also not into blogs. Initially, I didn't participate in Facebook contests but there were always so many great prizes via FB sweeps that I was finally persuaded to start entering them. I haven't been disappointed. In Fall 2012, I won a trip to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas courtesy of a FB sweeps!
